Game Day

Maddie just watched Auntie Taylor in the stands in Lincoln as Nebraska trounced Arkansas State.

After that, it was time to watch Mama’s aggies kick some SMU Mustang tail.

Ready For Kick-off!

Gig ’em Ags!

It’s Maddie’s first Aggie gameday today. You can see she’s ready to BTHO some Florida Gators! She still doesn’t have the gig ’em thumb down yet, but she’s obviously trying. Maddie will watch the game on t.v. with Grandma Kinney at the ranch while mom, dad and Grandpa Kinney go to the game in town. Surely, Maddie will yell right along at the t.v. with grandma.

She needs some shoulder pads to fill out the uniform

Maddie is still going to root for the Huskers today. Her Aunt Taylor sent her this cuter than cute Nebraska football onesie to wear. Once she starts talking, we’ll have her yelling, “Go Big Red!” (…right after we teach her to say, “Gig ’em, Aggies!”).

Now to find her a Baylor Bears outfit…

Bobby Bear

Grandpa Cox just got back from England and he brought Maddie a stuffed Bobby Bear from Harrods (Best Ida Bathey voice) ohh la la, dahling! Maddie is pretty taken with this little bear. Or at least she put it in her mouth a lot which presumably means its pretty alright.

Ready for Cornhusker football

Madeline got to enjoy her first college football experience by watching the Nebraska football game yesterday on TV. She was pretty thrilled to see the Cornhuskers dominate Southern Mississippi.

Here she is sporting her Nebraska bib which was a gift from Tom & Pat Thompson

Madeline with Grandpa Kinney chillin’ and waiting for smoked chicken. Now that they’re in separate conferences, Grandpa Kinney can support both A&M and Nebraska in good conscience.

Even More New Friends

Maddie got to see our friend Amy Esdorn again this week. Amy came to Austin for a birthday party and spent the night with us. We made coffee-crusted pork loin on the grill and enjoyed some awesome cheeses and some fantastic red wine from Becker Vineyards. We’re pretty sure Madeline will grow up with both an appreciation for Velveta Mac & Cheese as well as a solid triple-creme brie on baguette.

Later in the week, Madeline met two of Grandma Sue’s friends — Ida Bathey (from Houston) and Anne Pinero (formerly of Houston, now of Austin). We spent several hours with them at Grandma Sue’s house and enjoyed a wonderful lunch and coffee.

Just Chillin’ Like Bob Dylan

Maddie is such an incredibly chill baby. Certainly, there are times when she’s unhappy and cries (she’s got pipes!)… but most of the time, she is very, very laid back and fun.

2 Months Old…. and loving it

Madeline celebrates her two month birthday today.

Madeline went to her 2 Month checkup this morning which means that she had her 2nd round of immunization shots… not too fun. Luckily she wore her “tough cookie” outfit to tell that nurse the what for.

Unfortunately, the outfit didn’t entirely do the job. Shots are no fun.
