Madeline’s first headshot
Madeline in an awesome hand-knitted hat from Dave’s co-worker Lauren Brown. Thanks Lauren! This was Maddie’s first session with strobes (flashes). She was a little surprised by the first shot, but seemed to really enjoy it. Even though she can’t sit up on her own yet, her Bumbo chair makes for a great posing stool.
Madeline in awesome fuzzy boots from Jen’s cousin Barbie Painter (who is Maddie’s First Cousin once removed, I think)
“Well it’s true! It’s true! You’re semi-evil. You’re quasi-evil. You’re the margarine of evil. You’re the Diet Coke of evil. Just one calorie, not evil enough…” Madeline doing her best Dr. Evil impression in a beautiful blue flowered dress from Dave’s co-worker Khaled Jaber and his wife Diana.
Madeline wearing a warm owl sweatshirt which was a gift from Dave’s friend Aleen Kim. Jen and I both wish we had owl sweatshirts in adult sizes on a day like today — so soft and toasty warm!
This is an absolutely beautiful portrait shot by Jen of Madeline lit by window light. Love it!

The weather changed this weekend and fall is finally here in Texas. It stayed in the 50’s for most of the day today and we had the chance to go for a walk to the neighborhood park and take some pictures.
Madeline stayed bundled up and warm on the walk thanks to a super-soft-warm-fluffy blanket which was a gift from Great-Aunt Debbie & Great-Uncle Jim Van Zant.
Madeline is wearing a fantastic hand-knitted hat which was a gift from Dave’s co-worker Lauren Brown.
Madeline with daddy who looks like a scruffy nerf-herder.

Miss Madeline has discovered herself in the mirror. Well, she might not know it’s her own image, but she sure thinks that kid in the mirror looks like fun, so she has taken to smiling back. I think they’ll make great friends.
Tummy time is gradually becoming something Maddie semi-enjoys. It must have something to do with getting better at holding up that giant head.
If you didn’t catch the cuffs on those baby jeans a few posts ago, here’s another shot. For those of you who remember him, we call these her “Walt Parr jeans”
At just a little over three months old, Maddie is not completely rolling over yet. However, with the power of positive thinking, this girl gets about half-way there. Please forgive the mommy talk.

It is my most sincere hope that Maddie inherits her father’s music playing ability and not her mother’s. I will gladly have a piano-playing child in the house rather than one who bleats the C scale ad nauseam on a second hand trumpet. I’m sure she’ll be banging out some righteous tunes all by herself in a few years, but for now enjoy this touching piano duet between a father and daughter.

Madeline is 3 months old today!
I’d wager that even my grandfather didn’t wear his jeans this high on the waist chest. Regardless, baby jeans are pretty much adorable!
