For several years Maddie has been asking to go to iFly (an indoor skydiving place). Yesterday she got her wish – we went to iFly and then shared a vanilla shake with 3 straws at Amy’s ice cream.
The training is interesting – they emphasize that the key to skydiving is to move slowly and to try to hold still so that you can find equilibrium. We all did really well. You’ll see in the below video that Maddie’s legs were flapping around a bit and the instructor told her to keep her legs straight. She did and was able to do a little bit of equilibrium flying without being held. During our 2nd “jump” the instructor took us up all the way up in the tower! It was pretty exciting but Maddie decided that part was a bit too much. She says she doesn’t want to try that part again until we’re older.
