Visual Abstraction of Blurred Time at Nebraska State Fair

These images are long exposure photographs taken at the Nebraska State Fair in 2005 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Since that time, the fair has moved from the Lincoln fairgrounds to a new home in Grand Island.

These images capture the kinetic magic of the rides by showing the trail of their lights over time. By leaving the shutter open for a long period of time (ranging between 5 and 90 seconds), you see the full transit of the rides’ lights.
